Externally, the brand-new building looks as though it’s blending into its surroundings with a grass eco roof and timber-clad walls. Internally the environment could not be more different as the state-of-the-art facility is brilliantly lit and ultra-modern. A structural glass staircase set on brushed stainless bracketry greets you at the main entrance and allows natural light to cascade and seep into the building.

All handrails and glass were supplied and installed by Laidlaw Balustrades, the structural glass helps to bring areas closer together and plays a big part in the internal aesthetics of the facility. Away from the main entrance the structural glass had brushed stainless steel top-rails create a glass corridor at the first floor level overlooking work stations and the pilot plant below. Every attempt has been made to keep the appearance of the balustrades to a minimum with fixings sunk below finished floor levels and therefore completely out of site.

Laidlaw Balustrades provide fully compliant structural glass balustrades systems that are beautiful, simplistic and modern.
